Why Use HDMI on LCD TV?

HDMI or High Definition Multimedia Interface is a cable that can carry a great deal of information on it without having to change it from digital to analogue and back again. It can carry lots of audio signal and video as well without any having to compress any of it, thus eliminating a major cause of distortion to the signal.

If you use the HDMI cable on your LCD TV then you will certainly get superior quality sound, but it also ensures that the picture is sharper and smoother than you had with your analogue cables. The HDMI system will automatically convert any picture to the most appropriate format and video noise will be greatly reduced. Better still, you'll only need the one remote to tell it what to do.

While the HDMI cable is much fatter than the ones you've got at present, you only need one of them, so it saves having lots of cables. And it can go up to 15 metres, much longer than those other cables. The connector of the HDMI cable is much smaller than say, the DVI plug and they are now fitted to many laptops. HDMI cables are digital so they work very well with other digital products like your LCD TV.
