GPS Applications
If you thought that a GPS was something that got you safely from point A to point B you'd be right, but it does much more than that. Think of soldier and sailors tracking their way through featureless deserts or endless seas. The GPS allows them to navigate with breathtaking precision that is not only convenient, but life saving as well. It can track a vessel lost at sea and also help pinpoint those in emergency situations on land.
Transport services can use a GPS to keep track of all their fleet, thus increasing efficiency and saving money. Of course, shipping companies can do the same thing. Owners of pleasure boats use GPS for navigating, while they are also used by any number of commercial airlines such as crop dusters, surveyors and for aerial photography.
The GPS is also used to map roads and track bushfires, measure the earth, monitor earthquakes and in construction for bulldozing with unheard of precision. Of course, fun has not been forgotten and there are now GPS events where the players use their GPS or navman to find treasure. Treasure has also been hidden almost world wide for people to find, with the proviso that they must leave another treasure there for the next person.
